Periods (Menstruation) getting slightly delayed- How to get periods on time?
It is due for your monthly periods, but you still have not got it and you are having slight stomach ache only i.e., there is a slight delay of periods (menstruation). There is a simple grandmas home remedy to get your periods, almost immediately within a day. Sesame and jaggery are the magic home medicines. There are 2 ways in which one can consume this.
sesame seeds for delayed periods
sesame seeds and jaggery

      1.       Sesame should be dry roasted in a frying pan, ground with jaggery and eaten. This has a very a yummy taste and it is really unstoppable. You don’t need to stop. You can simply eat 5 to 6 tablespoons in a day and if you have still not got it, you can eat the next day also.
      2.       Sesame and jaggery are mixed and sold as nutri bars (popularly known as chikki in India) in many supermarkets which can be readily eaten.

A word of caution to expecting ladies. Women who doubt if they could be pregnant should avoid this before confirming pregnancy. If it is confirmed that they are pregnant, then they should stay away from this.

Periods pain
Some women experience severe pain during the monthly periods. There are a variety of grandmas remedies for this problem. The immediate home remedy for this would be to drink 1/3 of a glass of drumstick (Binomial Moringa Oleifera) leaves extract. This plant is commonly found in India. Fresh green leaves have to be taken and ground with a little amount of water and a thick extract has to be made. This extract relieves one from stomach pain during periods within an hours time. Drumstick leaves are nutritious. Make sure to remove ripe leaves if any and do not forget to wash the leaves before using.

Menopause:
When women near the menopause age, they experience a variety of problems. One common problem is that the periods become irregular. Sometimes a woman does not have periods for more than 3 months and sometimes has it in 15 days. Grandmas home remedies are the best way to handle this. The flowers of bananas are a cure for this. Banana flowers are eaten as a vegetable in the south Indian culture. A lot of delicious recipes are available. There is no prescribed dosage for this. It is just a vegetable and can be eaten without worrying about any side effects.I am giving a simple recipe.
      a. Banana flower curry
       Following are the ingredients.
       1. 1 banana flower. Make sure the individual florets are white in colour. If white, you can be sure the flower is fresh.
       2. Split bengal gram (channa with skin off) - 1 1/2 tablespoon soaked in water.
       3. fresh grated coconut - 1 1/2 tablespoon.
       4. 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds, 1 teaspoon black gram, 1 tablespoon of cooking oil namely sunflower or groundnut oil, red chillies, salt and curry leaves to taste.

Separate the florets, de-stamen and cut into small pieces. As it is being cut it has to be put into a bowl containing water mixed with 1 tablespoon of buttermilk. This will prevent the cut veggie from turning brown. Heat a pan, pour 1 tbs of oil and season mustard and black gram and the optional chilies and curry leaves, When the grams turn light brown, add the soaked bengal gram and cut flower (after draining the water), add salt and cover the pan. Every 5 minutes keep stirring for an even cook. In about 15 minutes the banana flower gets cooked and becomes soft. At this stage add the coconut and leave it for 2 more minutes. Banana flower curry, the panacea to the menopause problem is ready. This can be eaten with rice and sambar (the south Indian dish) and also with plain yoghurt.

There are a lot of other recipes too. Please check good South Indian blogs for the same.

How to delay the periods which is always on time?
Sometimes for various reasons you may like the periods to get delayed for a couple of days or more. Say, you have to travel or you may get some guest at home. These are times which demand more work from you. Periods may be a real problem at these times. Just to temporarily delay the periods there are again some good grandmas home remedies, the best being dalia dal or roasted chick pea. (This is the one used for chutneys made in South India). This is available in many Indian supermarkets. Eating a handful of plain dalia dal every morning will delay periods by 3-4 days. Start this at least 5 days before your periods is due. It has to be continuous. Do not break even a single day.
