These are a menace because they just don’t stop with the jar of sugar. They invade every part of your house that is interesting to them. Now how to keep these ants away? If the ants aren’t wild and if they are not in huge armies, then the simple grandmas home remedies can work for you and the magic ingredient is plain turmeric powder which is available in plenty in any Indian grocery. Sprinkle turmeric powder around the jar or the trash bin or along the path taken by the ants without a gap. This prevents the ants from entry. This only repels ants and do not kill them. Turmeric only repels ants. However this is a cost effective method.
